Product Overview

"Seiryu Stone" (Qinglong Stone) is a naturally quarried limestone used for landscaping. After manual trimming and sorting, it is available in two versions: standard raw stone and an acid‑washed finish. The stone features a deep, charcoal‑black base color crisscrossed with natural, milky‑white veining; it boasts rich textures with deep crevices and folds, as well as naturally rugged, angular contours. Each piece is a unique natural specimen, varying in shape and size, and is free from artificial dyes. With its hard, durable composition, it is a premier choice of stone for hardscaping planted aquariums, creating penjing (landscape bonsai), and designing traditional Japanese‑style dry landscape (karesansui) gardens.

Product Features

Natural black‑and‑white patterning; each piece is unique: Features a black base accented by natural white calcium carbonate veins. The rugged, craggy texture evokes dramatic mountain peaks and deep canyons; no two stones are alike, creating a highly atmospheric landscape.

Two versions available to suit different needs: The standard raw stone retains its natural appearance, while the acid‑washed version dissolves surface calcium deposits—significantly reducing mineral leaching into the water—making it ideal for aquarium use.

Dense, hard composition; resistant to disintegration: With a stable rock structure, these stones withstand long‑term submersion and outdoor exposure to sun and rain without crumbling or breaking down, ensuring exceptional durability.

Highly versatile for hardscaping: The stones feature irregular, rugged shapes that allow for stacking and joining to create canyon, cliff, or mountain landscapes; they can be securely assembled using aquarium‑safe hardscape glue or stone adhesive.

Comprehensive range of sizes: Small sizes are perfect for aquascaping in small‑to‑medium tanks; medium sizes suit landscape bonsai; large raw stones are ideal for garden rockeries and major landscaping projects.

Suitable for diverse settings—aquatic and terrestrial: Can be used in underwater aquariums, above‑water bonsai arrangements, and outdoor garden landscapes.

Application Scenarios

Aquascaping: Used to build rock structures in planted tanks, biotope setups, paludariums, and shrimp tanks—creating canyon, cliff, and mountain landscapes as a core aquascaping element.

Landscape Bonsai & Gardening: Ideal for landscape bonsai and rock‑clinging bonsai; combined with aquatic plants and moss to evoke a traditional Chinese landscape aesthetic.

Garden & Landscape Design: Used for garden stone placement, dry creek beds, Zen rock gardens (karesansui), and accents for flower or tree beds, as well as for detailing rockery features.

Desktop Micro‑landscapes: Suitable for flowing‑water ornaments in tea rooms, ecological terrariums, and Zen‑style desktop micro‑landscapes.

Commercial Space Decor: Landscaping for guesthouses, tea rooms, cafes, and sales centers, creating a "New Chinese" style natural landscape.

FAQ

Q1: Are the white veins on the stone surface artificially dyed? Will the color fade when soaked in water?

A: The white veins are natural calcium carbonate streaks, not dye. The stone's base color will not fade; however, white calcareous deposits may leach out—a natural phenomenon for limestone—which can be removed by rinsing or soaking.

Q2: Will Seiryu Stone (Blue Dragon Stone) harden the water or raise the pH level?

A: Standard raw Seiryu Stone contains calcium carbonate, which can slightly increase GH (general hardness) when placed in water. Acid‑washed versions have been treated to significantly reduce calcium leaching, making them more suitable for planted aquariums. If keeping fish or shrimp that require soft water, the acid‑washed version is the better choice; monitoring water quality is recommended.

Q3: How should I choose between standard Seiryu Stone and acid‑washed Seiryu Stone?

A: Standard raw stone: Suitable for bonsai and outdoor garden landscaping; offers great value. Acid‑washed Seiryu Stone: Preferred for aquariums to minimize the risk of increasing water hardness.

Q4: Can the stones be glued together to create a hardscape structure?

A: Yes. For underwater aquarium use, use aquarium‑safe hardscape glue or moss glue; for outdoor gardens, use stone‑specific adhesive for a secure bond.

Q5: How do I choose the right size?

A: ① 3–8 cm (Small): Small‑to‑medium planted tanks, desktop micro‑landscapes; ② 8–15 cm (Medium): Paludariums (aquaterrariums), landscape bonsai; ③ Over 15 cm (Large): Large aquariums, garden rockery/artificial mountain landscaping.

Q6: Will it crumble or disintegrate after long‑term soaking?

A: The rock itself is hard and will not crumble; only the surface calcium carbonate may leach out to form a white "frost" layer. It can be reused after being taken out and scrubbed clean.

Q7: Can I specify the shape of the stones?

A: These are natural raw stones; every piece has a unique shape and texture formed by nature, so specific shapes cannot be requested. We select high‑quality pieces within the chosen size range for shipment.

Q8: Will it be damaged if placed outdoors and exposed to wind and rain?

A: It has excellent weather resistance and is suitable for long‑term outdoor placement. In humid environments, white calcium deposits may form on the surface, which can be cleaned off by rinsing with water and scrubbing with a stiff brush.
